Clermont Escorts – Verified Companions in Central Queensland
Searching for Clermont escorts? Roladex connects you with verified independent companions near you. Clermont sits in central Queensland, north of Emerald.
It is the oldest inland town in tropical Queensland, established after copper and gold were found in the 1860s.
A flood in 1916 killed around sixty-five people and destroyed much of the settlement. The survivors moved the town to higher ground, hauling buildings uphill on rollers.
Coal now drives the district, with several large mines in the surrounding Bowen Basin. Consequently much of the working population is tied to mining rotations.
Cattle grazing works the country between the mines.
Blair Athol nearby held one of the thickest coal seams in the world. Meanwhile Moranbah lies north-east.
